Art on the Ave uses vacant storefronts and existing businesses in high- visibility locations to create interactive art exhibitions for all to enjoy.

Our next exhibition will be located in Washington Heights and will be a collaboration between Art on the Ave NYC and the Washington Heights BID, with the support of NoMAA. All three organizations work to enrich neighborhoods and foster a sense of place through public art.
The Curator will be responsible for selecting artworks that correspond to the theme of The Rise: Art in the Heights, and will offer support throughout the installation process, including development and planning of the exhibition.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Selection of artworks and artists to be included in the Art on the Ave NYC The Rise: Art in the Heights exhibition
- Creation of criteria rubric to use as reference when selecting artwork
- Development and implementation of exhibition, launching on June 1st, 2023
- Verification of all artist information prior to creation of labels
- Installation support with realization that some decisions will need to be made based on logistical and not curatorial criteria
- Communication with artists (info@artontheavenyc.com CC’d)
- Participation in a minimum of 3 gallery walks throughout the 3-month exhibition
