5:30-6:15 pm ~ The Art of Grant Writing for Artists ~ Juanita Lara, Development Director for BronxNet TV.

Do you need financial support for your art? Want to make your proposal more attractive to funders? Grant writing is a necessary skill to develop to promote and support your work financially. Get your art projects funded and tap into your grant writing skills just in time for the 2024 grant season. This workshop will focus on the most common local, city and state application procedures, demystifying their somewhat daunting procedures and making your project come to life. With a special focus on answering key proposal questions such as the Artist Statement, Project Descriptions, Goals and Objectives, and effectively communicating your project and getting that funding. Grant Writing tips and best practice will be shared. Join us and learn how to write a strong proposal from start to finish and submit confidently.

This workshop will be presented by Juanita Lara, Development Director for BronxNet TV.

Juanita has 20+ years as a non-profit fundraising consultant for arts organizations and artists. She is a writer, theater director/performer and is currently working on (and fundraising for) a scripted series for BronxNet TV.

6:30-8:00 pm ~ Artists Mixer ~ Tsion Café

A post-workshop networking Mixer at Tsion Café (a short walk away) will bring together facilitators, partners, and artists to engage in dialogue, ask questions, and network around the workshop themes. Light refreshments will be provided. Tsion Cafe is a place where we harmonize flavors from Ethiopia, Israel, and the ever diverse New York. Our fully vegan and Kosher menu welcomes everyone – with gluten-free options available as well!

This FREE workshop will be in-person only.
