Job Opening: Studios+ Office Assistant (Part-Time)

Organizational Overview
The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) is a non-profit arts service organization whose mission is to cultivate, support and promote the works of artists and arts organizations in northern Manhattan. Its main objectives are to facilitate the creation of new works by both emerging and established artists; strengthen the infrastructures of
local arts organizations; encourage public dialogue, engagement, and collective reflection around issues that affect upper Manhattan’s cultural community; and foster the region’s economic development and overall vibrancy.

About the Position
The Studios + Office Assistant (SOA)
is a key entry level position working primarily in support of NoMAA’s Studio Manager, but also as an administrative support to the entire NoMAA team. The SOA is the first point of contact for renters and/or members and plays a key role in
the daily operations of the studio spaces and office. The role combines customer service with facility management, administrative support and event assistance. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, possesses good communication skills, is effective at working with a team and enjoys the arts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as afternoon point of contact for phone & email inquiries during assigned hours
  • Process daily charges on the studio booking platform to help ensure smooth billing flow
  • Schedule and confirm in-person booking requests for potential studio renters
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day needs of studio users
  • Orient renters to the studios daily troubleshoot their technical or usage needs
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the studios and flag or address repairs, upgrades and daily organization of the space
  • Maintain general daily office needs and upkeep
  • Organize and track inventory for membership materials, merchandise, & catering supplies
  • Provide on-site support during special events and NoMAA Labs programming

    Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
  • Experience working within a team and/or a non-profit environment
  • Interest in Arts Administration, marketing, or the arts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work
  • Flexible and able to adapt when task priorities shift throughout the day
  • Availability to work evening hours and/or weekend days as necessary
  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
  • Comfortable using social media applications

    Compensation:
    25 hours/week. $20-$25/hour
