Portraits of My Community
Felipe Galindo “Feggo”

The Morris-Jumel Mansion opens a new exhibition, Portraits of My Community by Washington Heights artist, Felipe Galindo (Feggo), featuring a selection of thirty mixed-media artworks portraying the people of Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood. The project celebrates the intertwining of cultures in Upper Manhattan neighborhoods, presenting a social commentary on the diversity, beauty, and resilience of longtime residents, newcomers, and immigrants. The artist re-purposes packaging materials ─ familiar objects we use and discard  ─  to reflect on environmental issues, while honoring the everyday life and joy in our communities.

This exhibition will be on view during the museum’s public hours Thursday to Sunday 11:00 – 5:00pm. Free admission is available by booking at this link.
