Painting the Sky: A Watercolor Workshop with Dominique de Cock
Join LaLaLu for a two-hour watercolor workshop led by Harlem-based artist Dominique de Cock at Buunni Coffee in Washington Heights.
Inspired by the beauty and ever-changing character of the sky, Dominique will introduce participants to wet-on-wet watercolor, a technique especially suited to capturing clouds, light, color and atmosphere.
The workshop will begin with guided exercises exploring how water and pigment interact before participants create their own original sky painting. Beginners and experienced painters alike are welcome.
Belgian-born artist Dominique de Cock studied at several Brussels academies while working as a set designer in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Her artistic practice has included large-scale pastel drawings and watercolors as well as installations exploring oceans, vegetation and forests threatened by drought and wildfire. She has exhibited in Belgium and New York and is the recipient of various grants.
All art materials are provided. Participants also receive 15% off food and drinks at Buunni Coffee.
