MJM Virtual Parlor Chat: Saving New York’s Past: A Historic Preservation Panel
In this month’s Virtual Parlor Chat, learn about the history of historic preservation in Upper Manhattan and find out why preserving buildings and the stories that they tell are vital to all of us. Panelists will highlight the work of local community members to save 857 Riverside Drive, a building with ties to the Underground Railroad. This conversation, facilitated by Wayne Benjamin, will touch on a number of issues, including local landmarking, districting, threatened demolition, and ways the public can advocate for preservation.
