Inwood Art Works – Film Works Alfresco: Casa de mi Padre
Casa de mi Padre
Monday, July 19, 2021 – 84 minutes. Comedic Western in Spanish with English subtitles (2012, Mexico). Appropriate for Young Adult. Pre-show local musical performance begin at 8:00pm.
Scheming on a way to save their father’s ranch, the Alvarez brothers (Diego Luna and Will Ferrell) find themselves in a war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord. This bat-crazy satire of the Mexican telenovela, replete with flimsy scenery, soapy dialogue, and over-the-top characters, is also daring and stylistically bold experiment in cinema.
