Exhibiting Artists:

Franck de las Mercedes
Franck de las Mercedes is an artist living and working in Washington Heights, New York City. Franck’s experience as a child in war-torn Nicaragua, the visual clash of New York’s graffiti and an interest in the abstract expressionism movement played a major role in de las Mercedes becoming a visual artist. With a self-obtained education at the Mid-Manhattan Public Library, Franck’s work integrates aspects of photography, drawing, journal entries and text art, in frenetic paintings with energetic abstractions bursting with color. His art is part of private and public collections around the world.

Wilhelmina Grant
Wilhelmina Grant is a native New Yorker and a resident of Harlem. As a mixed-media assemblage artist, she uses discarded or found objects, which she repurposes into visual art. Many of the ideas that stimulate the creation of her work are reflective of her interpretations of contemporary social issues, namely: gentrification, violence against women and breast cancer awareness. Aside from nine solo exhibitions, Wilhelmina has participated in 16 group exhibitions around New York City. It is Wilhelmina’s sincere hope to have an impact on the community through the realm of visual art.

Tony Serio
I have been painting cityscapes and landscapes of Northern Manhattan for over a decade. When I moved to Washington Heights, street views of local architecture were an immediate inspiration as were views from window of the George Washington Bridge. I have painted the views from my window for many years following the seasons and different times of days where the act of painting is very much “in the moment.” My goal, however, is to present the viewer with an enduring experience for reflection on those fleeting moments. Painting onsite in Fort Washington Park along the Hudson and Fort Tryon Park has also been a source of ongoing inspiration that drives me to further develop my landscape painting language.
