Intergenerational Jazz Power Jam: Dr. E Digs Deep
The Intergenerational Jazz Power Jam series resumes in February, presenting “Dr. E Digs Deep – blues roots bring sweet fruits.” Led by JPI’s Managing and Artistic Director Eli “Dr. E” Yamin, the Intergenerational Jazz Power Jam will be held February 16 7 PM at Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center and February 19 2PM at National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Dr. E and his quartet will perform songs made famous by Willie Dixon, Elizabeth Cotten, Elvis Presley, Mahalia Jackson and pieces from his own creation. Featured artists include Dr. E, piano and voice, Zaid Nasser, alto saxophone, Elias Bailey, bass, David F. Gibson, drums, and special guests including Nicole Davis, trumpet.
