INNERSCAPES AND LANDSCAPES, Virtual Art Show
The Armin and Estelle Gold Wing Gallery of the Hebrew Tabernacle presents Innerscapes & Landscapes, a virtual art exhibit.
This art event connects to and coincides with Mendelssohn on the Hudson – the new historical musical walking tour of German Jewish Washington Heights, produced by Inwood Art Works. http://www.inwoodartworks.nyc/stage-works/mendelssohn-on-the-hudson/
The exhibit takes the viewer through interconnected “galleries”.
Innerscapes features the multi-media art and writing of Rosa Naparstek and the graphic art and text of Miriam Katin. Both artists deal with the subjects of the Holocaust, loss, survival, and displacement in deeply personal ways.
Landscapes is inspired by the little-known fact that the great composer Felix Mendelssohn, was also an accomplished painter of views and landmarks. 9 local artists offertheir take on the landscape ranging from traditional depictions of a place to imaginings of a metaphysical space.
