Come to Recirculation, a project of Word Up (876 Riverside Drive (& 160th St.) to join in a Zine Day celebrating two new zines by local authors: Plants of My Neighborhood / Plantas de mi Barrio by Jerise Fogel, and Lost Diamonds, A History of Gender Rebellion in American Baseball by Ellen Lindner.

Join the authors, plus local author, educator and zinester Sharon Lee De La Cruz (author of the groundbreaking comics memoir I’m a Wild Seed), for a free, all-ages zine workshop at 12 p.m. All materials will be provided.

At 2:30 Ellen, Jeri and Sharon will reconvene for a discussion of zine culture. What is a zine? Who makes them? Why? 

All events are free; donations to Recirculation are appreciated. Zines by all authors will be available for purchase, as well as a range of zines and comics from Word Up!
