Reel Sisters Screens “Black Girl”
In celebration of Juneteenth, Reel Sisters hosts a historic screening of the recently restored classic film Black Girlwritten by award-winning playwright & filmmaker j.e. franklin. Black Girl is a meditation on Black Femininity & celebrates three generations of women striving for a better life. Starring Ruby Dee & directed by Ossie Davis, the film was released in 1972.
