Beat the summer learning slide and join us for our 2023 Book Bash Giveaway! Behind the Book will be giving away over 4,000 new books, reading levels preK-adult, at Mitchel Square in Washington Heights. Books in English as well as bilingual and Spanish books will be available.

Behind the Book is a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire young people to cultivate their vast potential through literacy programs centered on diverse books and authors. Book access and book choice are key aspects of literacy engagement – and we aim to make sure our young people in NYC have some great reads for this summer break! 

Kids will also enjoy live readings of some of our favorite books in our cozy reading nook in the park from 12-4 PM.
