Felt drawn toward Africa but didn’t know where to begin?\nWanted a deeper cultural connection rooted in dignity, not stereotypes?\nSearched for a welcoming community that understands why Africa matters?\nThis space was created for you.\nWHAT IS THE CONTINUUM?\nThe Continuum is an 8-week cultural program rooted in Harlem, offering African cultural classes that bring people together through movement, language, creativity, and shared experiences.\nIt brings together:\n\nAfrican Americans who have traveled to Africa\nAfrican Americans preparing for future journeys\nArtists, elders, parents, educators, and culture-keepers\n\nNo passport required. No DNA test required. Just openness.\nWHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE\n✨ African-inspired movement (Afrobeats, Amapiano, West African styles)\n✨ Traditional African dance (including Yoruba based Sango cultural movements)\n✨ Hands-on arts & crafts inspired by African creativity\n✨ Learn Yoruba language and everyday cultural expressions\n✨ African music, rhythm, and cultural appreciation\n✨ Shared travel conversations and reflections on Africa\n✨ Pathways and inspiration for future travel to Africa\nEach session offers space to learn, move, create, connect, and grow through culture.\nUPCOMING CLASSES- (Subject to change)\nFriday, April 17 | 6:00–7:30 PM\nAfrican Beadwork: Stress-Free Expression\nCreate simple bead pieces while exploring the beauty and meaning of adornment across African traditions in a relaxed, creative setting.\nSunday, April 19 | 3:00–5:30 PM\nThunder Rhythms: Sango Dance & Learn Yoruba Language classes\nPart 1: Thunder & Rhythms: Sango Dance\nStep into the energy of Sango through authentic Yoruba dance, blending powerful movement with storytelling and cultural insight.
