DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to announce that Anne Fernandez, a Dominican filmmaker and Uptown-based multimedia artist, is the winner of Dyckman Farmhouse Museum’s 2025 Open Call for Art on Immigrant History, Culture, and Experience!\nSion Papi\nA Stop Motion Animation and Art Exhibition \nat the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum\nSion Papi is an animated documentary that follows the story of Anne Fernandez who, after the death of her father, embarks on a two-month journey to return his ashes to his homeland— a place she hasn’t set foot in for sixteen years. As she navigates this journey in an unfamiliar country, Anne begins to question who her father truly was during the years he lived there.\nThe exhibition at the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum will feature a screening of Sion Papi alongside a glimpse into Anne Fernandez’s creative process in making the film.\n \nOpen To The Public: \nMay 9 to June 21, 2025\nWednesday-Friday: 12pm-4pm\nSaturday: 10am-4pm\n \nNo registration required.\nThe museum is open and free to all Uptown residents.\n \nThis program is supported, in part, by, the Honorable Carmen De La Rosa, New York City Council, District 10.\n
