Beverages will be served.\n\n\n\nICONS is a podcast series of personal monologues in the voice of artists and writers from northern Manhattan curated and directed by Classical Theatre of Harlem Literary Director Shawn Rene Graham. Following our 2022 Icons: Harlem Renaissance in Motion Project featuring short original monologues based on figures from the Harlem Renaissance as part of our Behind the Curtain series. Behind the Curtain is the digital hub for theatre performances, education, and interviews meant to inspire, entertain, and educate. We are proud to now be launching our second season with a focus on Hispanic and Latinx voices. Icons 2: El Barrio Lives! is meant explore the rich history of East Harlem, by commissioning six writers of Latinx descent to breathe life into unknown figures that contributed to the unique history of this community that is still evident today from the great migration of from the Caribbean and Latin America in the early-to-mid 1900s.\n
