SUMMARY:Virtual Story Time: “The EGGsCiting Sleepover” with Dee Pichardo
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a virtual story time with local author & teacher Dee Pichardo as she reads from her new book “The EGGsCiting Sleepover,” all about healthy eating habits and accepting differences — via Zoom.\nHave you ever wanted to try something new? In, “The EGGsCiting Sleepover” (out 12/7/21) you will get to explore the dynamic relationship between two sassy school aged cousins (bilingual), Allie and Bryn. They are alike in many ways, but a major difference is in their eating habits. Allie is vegan, Bryn is not. After much explaining about her healthy eating habits and a whirlwind of emotions on Allie’s part, she empowers Bryn to try vegan pancakes at their next sleepover. But for the time being Bryn enjoys her buttermilk pancakes with eggs (her favorite food) and bacon. Read to find out what other healthy habits Bryn and Allie engage in!\nDee Pichardo is the proud author of, “The EGGSciting Sleepover.” As a teacher, Dee spends a lot of time with her students and has observed a lack of healthy eating habits and options. She became increasingly concerned as she watched countless students frequently eating unhealthy snacks. She wanted to find a way to encourage parents to identify healthier snack options while highlighting the connection between healthy eating and improved performance in school.\nLearn more at thebookmazebydp.com/about-the-author\nPlease note Word Up has a zero tolerance policy for harassment or intimidation of any kind during this virtual event. \n
