DESCRIPTION:dAOE is back with more opera in the park this Saturday with excerpts from:\nRichard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos\nan opera about an opera company making an opera\nSynopsis\nIt’s the birthday of the richest man in Inwood, and he’s lined up some entertainment – an improv troupe, and an opera company.  He’s got some ideas about how to keep things “interesting” and isn’t all afraid to cause a little culture clash.  The Composer is excited to present the premiere of his opera “Ariadne on (the island of) Naxos,” but there are surprises ahead for him, his teacher, and his cast.  The comedians Zerbinetta and Harlekin, and their Dance Captain will keep everyone on their toes for an exciting performance.\nDuration\nApproximately 90 minutes, with no intermission.  Bring a blanket or chairs and a snack.  Social distancing highly encouraged.\nSaturday, Oct. 9, 3pm\nIsham Park near Bruce’s Garden 215th Street and Park Terrace East Enter the park by 215th St and Bruce Reynold’s Way \nRain Date/location: Sunday, Oct. 10, 3pm Dongan Lawn in Fort Tryon Park – This performance will occur only if the Oct. 9 performance is canceled due to in-climate weather.\n
