Workshop – Introduction to Printmaking

In this workshop artists from the Dominican York Proyecto GRAFICA (DYPG) will introduce the medium of printmaking through an introduction and demonstration of print techniques. Artists will guide participants in the creation of a print project combining relief (in the form of linocut, foam and rubber stamp) and screen-printing. This workshop is a basic introduction to printmaking, no experience is necessary.

This workshop is part of the Dominican York Proyecto GRAFICA exhibition at the NoMAA Gallery.

Date: Saturday 27 October 2012, 1–4 p.m.
Location: The Cornerstone Center, 1st floor, 178 Bennett Avenue at 189th Street, New York, NY 10040.

Participants are asked to bring a sketch size to 4 x 6 inches (please bring the original and a photocopy of the drawing if possible). All other materials are included.

Dominican York Proyecto GRAFICA is a printmaking collective of 12 artists of Dominican descent who live and work in and around New York City. Artists of the collective are: Carlos Almonte, Pepe Coronado, René de los Santos, iliana emilia garcía, Reynaldo García Pantaleón, Scherezade García, Alex Guerrero, Luanda Lozano, Miguel Luciano, Yunior Chiqui Mendoza, Moses Ros-Suárez, and Rider Ureña.
